Our Establishment
Sant Rohidas Leather Industries and Charmakar Development Corporation Ltd. (LIDCOM ) was established on 1st May, 1974. An authorised Share Capital of Rs. 5 Crores which was increased to Rs.50 Crores as per G.R.No.LID-1097/13154/SCP-2, dated 10/3/1998. The current paid up capital of LIDCOM as on 31/3/2007 stands at Rs.73.21 Crores. State Govt. participation in the Share Capital is 100%. As per Govt.of Maharashtra Resolution No.LID/1095/6461/lND-5,dated 24.6.96, LIDCOM has been brought under the control of Social Welfare,Cultural Affairs and Sports Department from Industries Department. the said decision was taken in order to give financial assistance to the community which is engaged in development of Leather Industry.
Our Objective
The main objective of corporation is social, economic, and educational Development of charmakar community, i.e., Dhor, Chambhar, Mochi & Holar.
Promote & boost the Leather Industry and people engaged in Leather Industry of the Maharashtra State, Government of Maharashtra has established a company under the Company Act, 1956. The Corporation’s objectives are broadly divided into Commercial and Social activities.
- Development, encouragement and promotion of leather industry in the state.
- Developing Technology in Leather Industry.
- Creation of market for leather goods.
- To implement various loan schemes and provide financial assistance to the leather industry and other businesses for the tanner community.
- To develop artisans in leather industry from Scheduled Castes.
Our Strength
Share Capital of The Corporation
Our Corporation has four production centres in Maharashtra State located at Amaravati (Daryapur), Hingoli, Kolhapur and Satara. We have strength to manufacture Two Lakhs Shoes Pairs. We produce various leather products like Computer Bags, Briefcases, Purses, Shoes, Scandals, Belts, Hand Gloves. We have six Shops situated at Mumbai, New Mumbai, Dhule, Jalgaon, Solapur and Nanded.
- The share capital at the time of establishment was Rs.5 crores
- Authorized share capital Rs. 73.21 crores. Rs.43.21 crores of paid up shares capital.
- A total amount of Rs.314.61 crore received from the government in the form of share capital and share capital contribution.
- The government has approved to increase the authorized share capital from Rs.73.21 crore to Rs.1000 crore
Milestones
1974
Establishment of LIDCOM on 1st May 1974 with initial paid up capital of 5 Cr.
Currently Authorized shared capital of State Govt. has raised upto 306.21 Cr. by 2021-22. Now the Corporation receives grants to raise authorized share capital up to 1000 Cr.
1975 - 1980
Started manufacturing plants at Daryapur, Hingoli, Satara & Kolhapur
LIDCOM had started manufacturing plants at Daryapur, Hingoli, Satara & Kolhapur with the production capacity of 2 lakh pair shoes yearly
1984
The corporation was renamed as ‘Sant Rohidas Leather Industries & Charmakar development Corporation Ltd’ from earlier ‘Leather Industries Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd.’
Currently shared capital of State Govt. has raised upto 306.21 Cr. by 2021-22
1998
Raised share capital of state Govt upto 50 Cr
The shared capital of the state government has been raised to 50 Cr. from the earlier 5 Cr.
2007
Launched ‘Gattai Stall scheme’ to distribute Tin stalls to the roadside cobblers
Raised shared capital of State Govt in LIDCOM from 50 cr. to 73.21 Cr.
2008
Started Mahila Kisan scheme & Mahila samriddhi scheme
Total 5742 women beneficiaries of these two schemes jointly implemented by the LIDCOM & the State Govt for betterment of women from SC charmakar community.
2009
Education Loans schemes for students from Tanner community started
The Corporation till now distributed education loans for study in India & abroad to 88 students from Tanner community under ‘Education Loan schemes’

Kolhapuri chappal receives GI tag
On 4th May 2009 Kolhapuri chappal receives Geographical Indication tag & LIDCOM officially became ‘Registered Proprietor & Authorized User’ od Kolhapuri chappal
