Prada signs MoU to sell Kohlapuris at India-Italy forum

Italian fashion brand Prada plans to sell Kohlapuri slippers as it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the leather development corporations of Karnataka and Maharashtra, at the India-Italy business forum in Mumbai on Thursday (December 11, 2025).
Earlier in June this year, Prada was criticised for featuring the GI-tagged Kohlapuri slippers and later admitted that the designs were “inspired” by the slippers made by traditional Indian artisans in Maharashtra and parts of Karnataka.
