The main object of the Corporation is to implement various schemes to uplift lifestyle of Charmakars (Dhor, Chambhar, Holar,Mochi etc.) with an intention to develop them educationally, economically and socially so as to give them respectable place in Society. Also production of various types of Footwear & Leather Articles & supply to Government Departments & sale in Open Market

The Corporation & Welfare Commissioner Pune has jointly implemented the scheme of Gattai Tin Stalls for Roadsides Cobblers under which corporation is providing Tin Stall of Size 4’ x 5’ x 6.5’ costed Rs.16367/- per stall and Rs.500/- incidental charges for erection of stall under 100% subsidy scheme to eligible Roadside Cobblers from Gram Panchayat.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be of Charmakar Community only
- Age Limit should be in between 18 to 50 years
- For 50% Subsidy Scheme, Annual Income of the applicants should be below Rs.1,00,000/-
- Applicants must be permanent resident of Maharashtra State
- He must produce the Income and Caste Certificate of Authorised Govt. Officer
- Applicant must have a knowledge of the business for which he has applied for loan

This schemes provides exclusive & comprehensive protection of the Charmakar community by offering benefits of the scheme to the said community only.
Under the scheme everyone has a choice to select their own investment options as per their requirements & needs.
This scheme also offers loyalty benefits in the forms of subsidies, priority while getting supply of leather and many other benefits.
Under the scheme beneficiaries will receive tax benefits as per the policies of the corporation.
- Application form is available at District Office of LIDCOM
- Applicant must fill form and submit to District Office of LIDCOM
- Applicant must be of Charmakar Community only
- Age Limit should be in between 18 to 50 years
- For NSFDC Scheme, income for Rural and Urban area should be below Rs.3,00,000/-
- Applicants must be permanent resident of Maharashtra State
- He must produce the Income and Caste Certificate of Authorised Govt. Officer

Under this scheme, financial assistance upto Rs.50,000/- rate of interest is @ 5% p.a. is provided to beneficiary of Charmkar Community. In this loan Rs.10,000/- is given as subsidy and remaining amount is given as loan.
